Overbrook Academy Virtual Tour - Town of Smithfield, RI
Due to the overwhelming response and the in-person tours of Overbrook Academy reaching capacity so quickly, the Town of Smithfield is pleased to offer a Virtual Tour of the property for residents and others interested in seeing the buildings. The virtual tour is now available to view on the Town’s YouTube channel and provides an opportunity to explore the facility from home. As the Town continues to evaluate future uses of the property, we remain committed to transparency and community engagement and appreciate the strong interest shown by the community.

Employment Opportunity The Town of Smithfield is currently seeking applicants for the following seasonal positions: Life Guard: $22 per hour. Must be non-surf certified and have valid CPR & first aid cards at time of appointment. Beach hours are 10 am – 6 pm, seven days a week from mid-June to Labor Day. A rotating schedule is used. Deadline for acceptance of application is June 6, 2026 at 4:00 pm. E.O.E. Gate Guard: $16 per hour. Seasonal employment. Ability to maintain Town beach & facilities; assist with activities, enforce beach passes & stickers. Beach hours are 10 am – 6 pm, seven days a week from mid-June to Labor Day. A rotating schedule is used. Deadline for acceptance of application is June 6, 2026 at 4:00 pm. E.O.E. Supervisor: – $22 per hour. Seasonal employment. Ability to supervise staff and maintain operations of Town beach & summer programs. Must possess a H.S. Diploma or G.E.D. and a valid driver’s license, along with 1-3 years of experience in a supervisory role. Deadline for acceptance of application is June 6, 2026 at 4:00 pm. E.O.E.
